Witches Kava is owned by Renata, a chronic pain patient who was trying to find herbal solutions, thus creating her own blends which she is bringing to you now!

Both the Mood & Relax blend rely on kava extract powder as the main ingredient. The Relax blend rounds out with Blue Lotus, Passionflower, Magnesium and L-Theanine, all which promote relaxation and good sleep. The Mood blend has Ashwagandha, Holy Basil and Damiana as the supporting herbs, all found to promote a positive mood. Both blends had a total proprietary ingredient load of 375mg (swipe to see the supplement facts). This is one thing we weren’t a fan of, since we like to know exactly what is in the product we are using and how much kava extract we are getting, along with the other ingredients.

Both blends were “Sweet Tea” flavored, and being located in the Deep South ourselves, can confirm this actually did taste like a pretty good sweet tea! These are sweetened with cane sugar and sucralose, and contains 23 grams of sugar per serving which may sway some people looking to minimize sugar intake.

The effects from both were very pleasant, with the Relax blend being our favorite since it had more acute effects due to what we think is the Blue Lotus and Passionflower. We enjoyed these as a stand-alone drink and in addition to drinking our normal grog as a tasty compliment.

Overall, we really like what she is doing utilizing other herbs to compliment the kava in a subtle way. The taste is definitely sweet tea, so if your into that you will love it! We recommend taking out the artificial sweetener and having a more transparent label, but Renata definitely has the unique branding and niche kava blend in the bag so we are looking forward to seeing this brand and it’s offerings grow!
