Qamea Kava Review

Alright peeps time for a fresh new review! This time we are spotlighting Qamea Kava and their Fijian cultivar coming from the island of Qamea.
.
We really liked initially that the brand sent us out their latest lab tests (also available on their website, www.qameakava.com) that showed their kava has been third party tested and also the different kavalactones and their amount. The batch we received tested at 17.24% per posted lab results (take that as you will) which is a pretty high amount for a medium grind, and the kavalactone chemotype lineup was 4-3-6, indicating a more heady cultivar (uplifting, sociable, less sedating).
.
Since this was a more heady type, we refrained from evening use and stuck to daytime and early afternoon consumption. This strained out to be a nice, deep dark color with a slight froth, with a peppery but creamy taste that seemed to have a little more “bite” than typical Fijian cultivars we’ve had.
.
As far as effects, they came on quickly but also lasted a little quicker than usual. This could be good or bad depending on how you look at it, but for us, the timing was fine as we could drink it, have a nice hour or two, and then go about our business since we were using it more in the day.
.
The effects though, were strong and two shells gave that really strong kavain rush typical of fast acting, uplifting kavas. Very strong mind effects with decent body relaxation, but not enough to put you out on the couch.
.
Overall, pretty solid offering and you know what you’re getting with this brand. Seems like they put their care into the catches they source and this Fijian cultivar was definitely a little more unique than others, due to its fast acting and strong uplifting effects. Check em out!
