Kavahana Kava Nectar

We finally have the long anticipated review for Kavahana Kava Nectar! We had an absolute awesome time with Hana on the podcast (ep. 77) and she gave us some insight into her bar and why she chose this cultivar.
.
First off, Kava Nectar is instant kava, not micronized. The way the kava is processed is different, and while both can be easily mixed with a spoon, micronized is finely ground root. Hana was excited that her instant was actually dehydrated green kava juice, which is as close as you can get to fresh kava.
.
The Nectar itself was incredibly easy to mix and very smooth tasting, with little aftertaste and more of a sweet undertone as opposed to some more earthy kavas we are used to. The effects of one serving was a quick onset of calm clarity with no sedation. Hana did say they will be carrying a new cultivar geared towards being more heavy, but this one was very suitable for daytime and socializing.
.
Two servings for us was the sweet spot, and any more would have diminishing returns. Two servings gave us a great afternoon pick up that was relaxing, but again more uplifting and sociable. Nice mental clarity that took the edge off and provided the pleasant effects of what kava should give without making us locked to the couch.
.
We hope to one day visit her bar to have this served up in her classic coconut shell offering! Great job at sourcing a very smooth and peaceful cultivar Hana!
