Amazing Botanicals Borogu Kava Review

Todays review comes on a lesser known brand within the kava community, Amazing Botanicals Vanuatu Borogu medium grind👇
.
We stumbled across this brand on Amazon, where it’s available for $48 (Prime w/shipping). Upon researching the brand more, their website shows them predominantly as a Kr8tom retailer that offers kava options, such as this medium grind plus some extract items. They also offer a waka, Tongan, and Pouni Oni medium grind on Amazon.
.
Vanuatu’s Borogu is the most popular variety in Vanuatu, that offers a mellow mood and mental relaxation but follows up with a heavy feeling that is beneficial for sleep. We couldn’t find any testing/chemotype on this batch via the website so the trust is on the retailer that they are providing true Borogu kava.

This kava actually mixed excellent, and was a breeze to make in the Aluball (got 3 washes out of 2 tbsp!) and same in the strainer. The liquid produced was a very dark, muddy brown and the taste was smooth with a tinge of spice.
.
What was interesting is the effects were sort of inconsistent.. Some days it only took one or two shells to really hit, then some other times it took multiple shells to get effects. We are consistent with our diet/meals and timing of drinking, so we ruled that variable out. When the effects did hit, it was a nice mellow relaxation and a subtle mood boost that wasn’t euphoric, but rather a “peace of mind” type feeling. Charles personally slept great with this kava and even on evenings we weren’t having a big session, still had a serving because the sleep onset was very nice.
.
Overall, besides the inconsistencies in how much we had to drink to feel effects, this kava was surprisingly good for the price and being off the radar. We are definitely going to explore the rest of their line to see if product quality is hit or miss, or consistent. Worth picking this up to see how it stands in your opinion against some of the other top shelf Borogu’s.
